FEBRUARY:
19th – Beginning Glass Casting, 9am-3pm (5 Spots available) $250 per person & $235 for METAL GUILD members. (Scout Handford – Instructor) Learn how to make a model out of wax and an investment mold. We will discuss different types of glass and techniques on how to kiln cast a basic glass form.

26th – Beginning Welding 9am-5pm (4 Spots available) $150 per person & $135 for METAL GUILD members. (Scout Handford – Instructor) • Includes materials and safety gear (wear long sleeves, jeans and boots) • Learn safety and use of steel for metal art and sculpture • Practice using the torch and welders • Learn basic techniques for welding and sanding

MARCH:

(Scout Handford – Instructor) • Includes materials and safety gear • Learn safety and use of soft glass • Practice using the torch • Learn basic techniques for stringers and bead making. You will be taking home beads from your first class!

Bring your favorite beer, wine or snack and let’s start the year with some metal arts social networking. We will have metal class sign-ups and you will be able to check out what’s new in the Studio: A large Glass Furnace and a Combo Slip Roll and Sheer (thanks to Tim Lazer, Lynda Lazer, Monty Clark & Caroll Fonda). We are always looking for metal and glass equipment donations. Thanks!
